Gift of Life
Reflection: God is everywhere present and all knowing. The creator of the universe cares about the hidden details of everything that exists from our complex emotions to the growth of lilies in a field. What appears to function autonomously was carefully crafted by the creator for a specific purpose. He speaks life into dark emptiness, filling nothingness with light (Genesis 1: 2, 3). His love permeates all He has created. The smallest living organism is of great importance to Him as He never fails to sustain His living masterpiece through every stage of existence with a watchful eye and loving guidance (Luke 12:27, 28).

The Bible speaks of men who were chosen for specific tasks before they were born. Jeremiah is such an example. He was appointed spokesman for the Lord long before he was conceived in his mother’s womb. Regardless of Jeremiah’s opinion of his own ability, the Lord had a plan for his life (Jeremiah 1:4-8). Jeremiah was obedient to God’s calling, and the Lord enabled him to courageously confront the people of Judah with their sin.

Heavenly Father,

You thoughtfully designed the earth and all that lives with distinctive elegance. Thank you for the gift of life and the future you have in store for me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

A Place to Embrace
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”

Wise as the serpent
Harmless as the dove
Holy Ghost of heaven
Spirit of perfect love
All righteousness, peace and joy
We are thinking of
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”

Comforter and Teacher
Peaceable to know
Manifest the creature
Favorable to show
Grace truth and glory
Pure as heavenly snow
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”

Miracles are common
Under the power of His tree
Where Jesus died for us
To unveil His family
Faith and hope and charity
For all the world to see
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”

Exalt the LORD our GOD
And worship at His holy hill
For the LORD our GOD is HOLY
Christ Jesus became His zeal
Compassion, discernment and enrichment
Unto us Is Real
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”

Redeemer forever
We lift one voice to sing
Hallelujah Emmanuel
Our True and Faithful KING
Unto us the Gift of Salvation
Only The FATHER could bring
“OUR SAVIOUR DIVINE”
SELAH

The real truth of humility is that it serves and teaches us to not give in to the regular practice of participating in loud and boisterous conversations. Even though the temptation of speaking our mind, telling someone off, or putting others in their place seems to be the norm in our fast-paced society, the most effective way of getting our point across is to be silent.

One of the most important lessons that I have learned is from my father, who told me to always talk softly, walk slowly and carry a big stick. I have realized that the big stick is at times not revealing what you are thinking. In observing people who speak out in language not found in the dictionary or certainly not appropriate in the presence of children or people who do not use such language, I have come to see that people use this loud and boisterous tactic to camouflage their weakness and uncertainty of what they really intend to do.

Humility is one of the Fruits of the Spirit that God wants us to practice as part of our character. It is forgiving and sacrificial to others in that they are allowed to be outspoken and at times overbearing.

We sometimes let our children speak their piece and have their way in order to make a point or teach a lesson in life. Humility is doing what needs to be done, knowing that others should have helped more. It is the knowledge that you are victorious in your daily walk because you do not allow yourself to be manipulated or enticed into irrelevant, meaningless discussions.

God, in His awesome power and glory, gives us mercy when we humbly ask Him. That mercy is an unearned blessing by God, and we are unworthy recipients. We show others the way when we humble ourselves before them and practice this most difficult characteristic of our human existence.
