Disney World of the Art World

Well it's that time of year again...Art Basel week in Miami. Pretty much the Disney World of the art world all in one week. I am not going to lie I am a bit tired. I've been at the studio working hard meanwhile trying to work on OpenZine.com. I am not complaining though it has been really fun. The new work I'm doing is so far out there. Different from anything I've really done before.

Anyway I just wanted to fill you all in on what I will be doing this year. I have been included in the Vanguard New Contemporary art fair put together by Gen Art. Special thanks to Francisco LoCastro (Director of Vanguard) for getting me involved this year. I'm pretty sure your going to see an interview pop up somewhere on OpenZine.com soon with the man himself. Back up, the dude can speak 3 languages and he's broadening his horizons globally. His hard work is paying off. With that said this is going to be a really interesting Art Fair. The fair focuses on the up and coming galleries that show street art and pop surrealism. As most of you know my work doesn't really fit into any of the molds yet I'm excited to be apart of this because it is in fact making a wave in the art world no matter what anyone thinks. Don't believe me, seriously then pick up this months issue of Art News. I am not saying anything just pick it up. Some artists in Vanguard don't fit into any specific category and I think that's what gets me so interested in this. I love the colliding of different art and I believe most people do too.

This issue I put all the info you need to know about the Vanguard fair and a show at  OhWow. I am not involved in that one but I figured I'd show some love. Even though this issue has to do with Art Basel week I don't really go to explain what's happening there. Everyone knows, Miami Beach Convention Center, pay for your ticket watch rich guys buy a lot of art...you know the story..God Bless em'. Also make sure to check out Pulse, Scope, Nada Art Fair, Design Miami and so many other things. I lose count. You get the idea. I will be making an issue with pictures for the aftermath of the Vanguard show and anything else I find interesting to share with all of you. Thanks for reading and it's time to kick some ass!
