The Thrill of a Chase
The seven films listed below are movies that contain my favorite high speed chases in a movie. They are in no particular order from my most to least favorite but they are in order according to video and script. So from 1 to 7 I hope you enjoy and love them as much as I do.
1. Roma Violenta (1975)
So we all know that these car chase scenes in American films would have a slim chances of existing if it wasn't for the Italians and those amazing cars from Italy. Roma Violenta released in 1976 is about a detective played by Maurizio Merli who is tired of the bullshit in his town and is putting the smackdown on the bad guys. With hot man meat behind a Fiat 500 this is not the only reason why I like this chase. The movie is great and it demonstrates the originals in total domination. Awesome car chase.  2. Death Proof (2007)
Beautiful women kicking a crazy stunt man's ass, blood, speed and a car chase with two American muscle classic vehicles makes a bomb ass equation for a fun and edgy movie. Quentin Tarantino is a genius. From Kill Bill, Kill Bill 2, and Death Proof its evident that Tarantino loves the ladies and their triumph over mental males.

If anybody is familiar with the movies Vanishing Point (1971) and Bullitt (1968) then you should recognize the cars in this scene. Known as the cars used in "the best car chases in a movie" (as some would argue) the alpine white 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T from Vanishing Point and the 1968 V8 Dodge Charger from Bullitt are used in this scene. Good Shit. Unfortunately, in this clip, we don't get to see the first half of this chase and why it has gotten to such a violent point, but that means you should go and rent it. It's great. You'll love it. ;)

3. Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981)
When I was a kid, my dad was hooked on the movie Mad Max. He watched it all the time. A couple of months ago I rediscovered the movie and became curious as to why my dad was so glued to this movie. Well I rented all the sequels and found out.

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
is a sequel to the film Mad Max (1979) starring Australian raised Mel Gibson. The Mad Max films directed by George Miller are great movies. The action-triller movies takes place in post-apocalyptic Australia. These sequels are consistent in action, story line, and car chases which makes them really good. Its ran by barbaric and psychotic humans (mostly men of course) and how things can turn ugly when survival is being put on the line. This chase is my fav....but it is not over for the sequels, Mad Max 4: Fury Road went into pre-production in April of this year. Lets hope for another bad ass chase.
4. The Island (2005)
The Island is a cool film set in 2019 and has one of most intense car chases to watch. Especially on a big screen. I have to be honest that I haven't seen all of the movie. I was at a friend's house when it was on in the background playing...loudly. Of course at this point I was curious to know what we were NOT watching so I picked up the box to learn that it was a Micheal Bay film.

YAY! That means it had to have a chase in it. So I fast forwarded through all the bullshit and went straight to the action. Then I watched it at least 5 times in a row. I was glued. Every knows Mr. Bay for his adrenaline pumping car chase scenes in movies in The Rock and Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, and Transformers. So you know in this clip there are explosions, cars crashing, big objects and debris flying everywhere. I LUB IT!
*5. Ronin (1998)
I. love. Robert De Niro. I have always loved him. The first time I saw this movie it instantly became my favorite for a long time and even replaced my love for Goodfellas. It was the perfect combination. Paris, Robert De Niro, fast cars, money, heist, explosions,  gunshots and high speed chases.

I know I said that these favorites were in no particular order but I must say that this is THE best high speed chase in a movie and my favorite. Simply my opinion. It was so well put together. The driving and stunts are splendid. There is a another chase in this movie that is also fun to watch. But this one's the best.
6. The Bourne Supremacy (2004)
Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring the incredible Matt Damon the Bourne sequels have been some of the most action packed sequels in the history of American film. Although my favorite chase takes place in The Bourne Identity (2002) this clip from the sequel that follows in The Bourne Supremacy (2004). I couldn't find the clip I wanted but if you've seen The Bourne Identity you know exactly which chase I'm talking about.
7. The Italian Job (2003)
Directed by F. Gary Gray and from the remake of The Italian Job (1969) this clip is the only one the list that doesn't involve cars. This boat chase is magnificent and honestly how many people can drive anything like Jason Statham? Really cool, really fun, and great to watch. Makes me wanna drive boats.
