Plastic Surgery Liposuction: Check Out The Body You Want

Liposuction is the removal of the fatty layer between the abdominal wall and muscle.

This cosmetic surgery is primarily for people who have tried dieting and exercise  and are having difficulty slimming down.

Step 1 Mark Up
Your plastic surgeon will do a priliminary mark up to show exactly where the fat tissue will be removed.  This is a map of sorts which also allows the patient to know what to expect.

He will usually start with circular marks on the upper abdomen and then will mark the lower abdomen.  Then he will turn the patient around and mark the sides while he  feels the areas to locate the fatty tissue.

Step 2  Operation

Many doctors will  inject local antiseptic with the tumescent method.  They will add more medication to decrease bleeding and bruising.  This will also numb the fatty tissue.

The actual removal of the fat  is done by sucking it out through a tube.  It can be seen as it is collected in plastic cannisters.  Bleeding is usually minimal although it can vary from patient to patient.

The surgeon will carefully remove the fat as he makes fanning motions to help liquidfy the fat.  He wants to avoid sucking out the fat too closely to the skin, which could cause rippling.

He will also avoid going too deeply  where serious damage could be done in the abdomen.  He will carefully stay in the proper plane.

Step 3  Post Surgery

Recovery will  be quick for most patients.  Many will be able to return to daily activities within a few days.  They can also take a shower without fear of getting the surgical area wet fairly soon.

Patients will most likely wear compression garments to help with the healing.

For many people, the skin will retract to a more normal appearance if they are young enough.  If any stitches are used, they will dissolve after a few weeks.

If you are sick and tired of putting up with breasts that are too large and getting in your way, consider breast reduction surgery.
The New Laser Bra Technique
The                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The Laser Bra Technique is a new breast reduction procedure invented by Dr. Grant Stevens of Marina Plastic Surgery.

A laser is used on the underside of the breasts  to remove the top layers of skin.

The lasered skin will not be altered or changed during the operation, but the remaining skin will be removed.

The lasered skin will become an internal bra which will help keep the breasts higher for a period of time.   The surgeon will move the nipples up to a more natural position and the surgery will be completed in about one hour and a half.

One of the advantages of lasers is there is no bleeding.

The surgeon will do a final check of his work after stapling the tissue.  After he examines the breast carefully and is satisfied with their new size and shape, he will remove the staples and will replace them with sutures.

Is It Time for a Breast Reduction Lift?

Some women have breasts which are much too large for their body frames.

Their breast size interferes with their daily lives because they may not be able to do all the activities they want.  Back, shoulder and neck pain, as well as headaches, can sometimes result and many women complain because their clothes do not fit properly.

Another reason for the procedure is that both your breasts may not actually be the same size.  Although this is not uncommon, a huge difference in sizes can be difficult to live with.  The surgery can make them  more symmetrical for a better match.

A breast lift is simply pushing up of the breasts to give them a better fit on the body frame where they will be perkier and not drooping down.

Payment and Insurance Claims
Insurance companies may be more cooperative than you might think.  Your policy may cover your breast reduction surgery if you can meet their guidelines on how much breast tissue is actually removed.

You may also need to prove your enlarged breasts do interfere with many  of your daily activities.

Be mindful that some companies may still deny your claim, but there are doctors who will  operate after you have arranged satisfactory alternate payment plans.

What is Involved
Your doctor will measure  from sternum to nipple to find out exactly how large your breasts are while making plans for your surgery.

During surgery he will remove the excess weight, and tighten the breasts by lifting them up and placing the nipples back on top in a more natural position.
He will use as small an incision as possible.

Your pain will not be as bad as it would be if muscle was involved, but there will be a little discomfort.

You should follow his post op directions closely, especially his instructions not to lift heavy loads such as small children for about three to four weeks.

If you have always wanted to reduce your breasts now is a good time to consider it. You can finally stop suffering with bras that dig deeply into your shoulders which make you hunch over and excess weight on your chest which can cause back pain.
