What is Moodle?6/21/2009 10:03:24 PM
Moodle is an acronym for Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. It’s a software called learning management system. It is designed to be collaborative. Students and teachers can work together and talk to each other because sometimes they are scared or they don’t have time in person.
You can do lots of things in Moodle. For example, you can access your class work and talk to other students about the work that you are doing in case you are a bit late or you have missed a class for that class, talk on forums, you can also submit assignments in it from home so if your away from school on the day that an assignment is due in you could post it on Moodle and get someone to tell your teacher where it is and that way it isn’t late in. And more.

How to insert files and folders in Moodle?6/21/2009 10:02:47 PMTeachers use folders to store there files in Moodle so
that it would be easier for them to find work that they have seperated
into folders. Teachers suggest that making a hole new file is easier
because you can just store everything in one folder.
Who benefits it? The teacher can benefit the net by making differant
files and folders for differant year's of students. Students
can benifit on it, because they would be able to open a course that is
there task and can find information.
For us students it's easy to just open a document with one click. We
can open it, download it, edit it, store it and so on. Thus saves a lot
of time and hassle of trying to find things and copying.
Here is a clip about working with files and folders in Moodle. You can really do all this if you have a Teacher role in Moodle.

How to create links to websites in Moodle?6/21/2009 10:02:22 PM
This is very useful to teachers and students.
You don’t need to
spend your time writing the website on the board everytime your
students are on the computer. Just make a website link and your
students can visit it anytime they like at school or at home to do
there homework if there is any information they need. As you have read
above it is every easy to make a link and you can make one anytime you
like. This is only for teachers and not students and links need to be
work related with what subject you are teaching.

Here is a clip that explains how create a link to a website (see my written instructions below if you are stuck).

There is also a way to create a whole list of websites on one page in Moodle. Click this link to watch the clip

Here is a quick text on how to add a link to website. You need to have a Teacher role.
How to Login to Moodle?6/21/2009 10:01:24 PMWell, you need to have a username and a password to log into Moodle.
Because we don't want to publish details about passwords here, you will need to ask Russell, the library ladies, Mr Olynyk or Mr Lasic and they will help you. It's pretty simple too.
