the idols and their runner-ups
No, I won't write about their accomplishments and stuff..I will do something different and write about my personal choices between them. :)

Kelly Clarkson Vs Justin Guarini --> I was really for Kelly. :)

Reuben Studdard Vs Clay Aiken --> I was for Clay. And no matter what, I am still a fan.

Fantasia Barrino Vs Diana De Garmo --> Sorry, but I wasn't much of a Fantasia fan, but I
always thought she'd win. I only wished it was Diana then, but well, I think America still made a good choice.

Carrie Underwood Vs Bo Bice--> Team Carrie all the way, Baby! :)

Taylor Hicks Vs Katharine McPhee --> You'll be surprised to know that I was a Taylor fan. I dunno, he was unique in his own way, wasn't he? Shows that talent ain't about looks and stuff.

Jordin Sparks Vs Blake Lewis--> I wanted Blake to win. But at the last minute, had an inkling that it was gonna be Jordin. Well, the song (This is my now) suited her..

David Cook Vs David Archuleta--> Tough, this was tough. I loved them both! But seriously, I rooted for David Cook.

Kris Allen Vs Adam Lambert--> Adam Lambert!! :)

Lee Dewyze Vs Crystal Bowersox --> Lee. :)

The Goodbye songs
So, what else makes those elimination nights worth watching? For me, it's those "goodbye" songs partnered with those "tribute videos". So, let's take a look back :)

Bad day - Daniel Powter (Season 5)- I was pretty much addicted to this one back then! haha Anyway, it's a good song, nice lyrics.

Home - Daughtry (Season 6) - "I'm going home, back to the place where I belong coz these places and these faces are getting old, so I'm going home.."

Hollywood's not America -Ferras(Season 7-Hollywood round) - The title says it all, you know? :)

Best days - Graham Colton (Season 7- Hollywood round) - "Don't wait for someone to tell you it's too late coz these are the best days.." I can't erase it on my phone! Really good song.

Celebrate me Home - Reuben Studdard (Season 7) - I know this is a good song, but I couldn't remember much about it, for some reason.. haha Should listen to it again soon :)

Home sweet Home - Carrie Underwood (Season 8) - One of the best "Goodbye" songs.. This also reminds me of my OJT days.. I like this one.

Leave right now - Will Young (Season 9) - One of those highly emotional songs..I like it. "My racing heart is just the sameWhy make it strong to break it once again..Think I better leave right now, before I fall any deeper.."

Where are they Now?
Ever wondered whatever happened to some of the Idol Finalists? Well, here's some info..

Jim Verraros (Season 1) - He's the show's first Openly Gay contestant and the first to be voted off the Top 12 of that season. His Indie CD "Unsaid and Understood" won an Outstanding New Recording Debut award in 2004. He was also in a film called Eating Out and its sequel, Eating Out 2 and was critically acclaimed. The DVD was released in 2007.

Tamyra Gray (Season 1) - Tamyra had a successful acting and music career after Idol. She then married Color Me Badd's Sam Waters and they are currently working on her next record. On March 2010, she announced that she's pregnant with her and Waters' first child.

Kimberly Locke (Season 2) - Kimberly is Season 2's second placer and is still pretty much active in the industry. I remember being in-love with her song "8th world wonder" in 2005. Her newest single "Strobelight" is currently making waves in the US dance charts.

Carmen Rasmussen (Season 2) - Carmen is signed with Lofton Creek Records with her debut album released in 2007. She also appeared in a few episodes of Fear Factor with Season 4's Anthony Fedorov in 2006. Carmen was also part of the film "Pride and Prejuidice". She gave birth to her son Boston in 2008, with husband Bradley Herbert.

Kimberly Caldwell (Season 2) - You mostly see Kim during finales hosting those crowd stuff. She also works as an entertainment correspondent for TV Guide. Her debut album will be out this July. And oh well, to the dismay of many, she and David Cook dated for a time in 2008.

John Stevens (Season 3) - Remember him? He was a lovely, young boy.. I remember him receiving death-threats and stuff.. Anyway, he now sings with the Beanton Swing Orchestra which is based in Boston. (It's something like what Frank Sinatra does)

Jasmine Trias (Season 3) -Who would ever forget this charming Pinay who always wore her trademark flower (stuck in her ear) during her performances? I really rooted for Jasmine (not just coz she was Pinay, but because she had charm and talent). She became an endorser for a couple of Filipino companies after her Idol run and Jasmine Trias Days were both given to her in Hawaii and in her hometown, Tanza, Cavite. She also modeled for JC Penney for a time in 2005 and released some albums, as well. She now currently performs at the Gold Coast hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with the Society of Seven band.

Camile Velasco (Season 3) - Another Pinay who made it in Season 3! Her debut album was released in March 2009. Her songs are on youtube. Today, she still performs for some cultural and business events.

Jennifer Hudson (Season 3) - I will never forget Simon hating her Silver outfit..haha.. but look where she is now: An Oscar Awardee! Beat that, eh? :) She starred in Dreamgirls and from then on, became a successful actress and singer.

Anthony Fedorov (Season 4) - Ah, I used to be infatuated with him (lol)..yeah,well, he was one of my teenage crushes. As I've said, after Idol he appeared on Fear Factor with Camen Rasmunen. He also judged the Military Idol contest in the Air Force. He sang for an awards show once, honoring Gloria Estefan. He's currently a theater actor and even worked with Season 3's Diana De Garmo in Joseph the Dreamer.

Jessica Sierra (Season 4) - She was one of those talents who was voted off the show way too early. After Idol, she performed for a lot of special events, including some stuff for charity, but in 2007, she got arrested for possession of Cocaine. She entered Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew, and became sober since.

Constantine Maroulis (Season 4) - Probably one of the biggest crushes of my teenage life (oh, just make that my life..I still like him 'til this day :)) I remember being shocked when he got voted off (way too early!) He (along with Bo Bice) were one of the first contestants who competed with the rock genre. He started touring alone in 2005 and released his self-titled solo album in 2007 and is also very active in theater, even garnering a Tony nod for his acting performance. He'll be headlining the "Rock of Ages" tour come September 2010. Oh, and fast fact: did you know that he was in The Wedding Singer? :)

Kevin Covais (Season 5) - Remember Chicken little? :D (that was the judges' nickname for him). After Idol, he appeared on some shows and movies (e.g.: with Drake Bell in "College" and with Lindsay Lohan in "Labor Pains"). Last February, he appeared in an episode of The Real World with Ace Young and Lisa Tucker.

Ace Young (Season 5) - I liked this guy a lot too :) Do you guys know that he co-wrote the chorus to Daughtry's "It's not over?" yes, he did. :) He also released some cd's back in '06 and '08 and recently waves in Broadway's production of Grease.

Kellie Pickler (Season 5) - I remember Simon calling him a "Minx!" hahaha. Currently, she's very active in country music industry. She and Taylor Swift help write each other's songs.

Chris Daughtry (Season 5) - Probably one of those people we wouldn't have wanted to be voted off but oh well, it happened and it pretty much gave us all the shcok of our lives. I remember Chris saying that he thought he was being Punked! Thankfully, he's one of today's biggest artists and most successful Idol Alums ever. His band's (Daughtry) albums have been selling like hotcakes and their current single "September" is doing well on the charts. He also helped co-wrote Kris Allen's song "Send me some angels". Fuel also wanted to hire Chris as their vocalist but he didn't wanna leave his band (so great of him :))

Elliot Yamin (Season 5) - What I love about Elliot is his simplicity and being so genuine (and who would forget her ever-supportive mom? I was pretty sad when she died..) Elliot has been busy with the music industry after Idol and has been successful, as well. His song "Wait for you" is one of my favorites.

Sanjaya Malakar (Season 6) - Talk about being infamous (lol), oh, well,  he did give color to that season. Guess where he is now? He's currently working in a Pizza chain called Pagliaci Pizza in Seattle.

Amanda Overmyer (Season 7) - Tough rock-chick, people. Her version of Back in the USSR is the bomb! She now has a band and is quite successful in that arena.

Brooke White (Season 7) - I love, love, love Brooke--pure, raw talent there. Brooke released her first post-Idol album in June 2009.

Carly Smithson (Season 7) - Remember Evanessence's Ben Moody? Well, he now has a new band called "We are the Fallen" and Carly is the  vocalist. Their music is pretty much reminiscent of Evanessence's but a bit darker.

David Hernandez (Season 7) - Do you guys still remember that controversy about him being a former stripper? I personally believe it was also one of the reasons why he got booted off that early. Anyway, he went on tour with some former Idol cast-offs in 2008 (Not the top 10 tour, though) and went to open for John Legend at a concert, and most recently, spearheaded the "Ballroom with a twist" concert tour with Mikalah Gordon and Desmond Meeks.

Michael Johns (Season 7) - That gorgeous Aussie dude! Sigh.. :) He released his debut album last year called "Hold back my heart", and I must say, the tracks are pretty much well-written. I love "This is Goodbye" the most.

Jason Castro (Season 7) - "I just wanna fall in love with you again, we don't have to try..." I'm sure you guys know that song :) Well, Jason's pretty much successful now, just released his album a few months back.

Anoop Desai (Season 8) - Anoop's first album entitled "All is Fair" was released last March and he's now currently touring North Carolina. He also did some Oreo ads. Go, NoopDogg! ;)

Scott MacIntyre (Season 8) - I know many people were touched by this guy's story (well, including me). He just released his album called "Heartstrings" a few months back.

Matt Giraud (Season 8) - The first one to be "saved"! His song "You don't know me" with Anna Wilson ht number 1 at the Itunes Jazz charts.

Danny Gokey (Season 8)- Another one with a very inspiring story. His album "My best days" was released last March and hit #4 on the charts, which is the highest a male country star got in 18 years!. You have to listen to his song "Will not say Goodbye",  it's very wonderful. He also does some charity work. he has this foundation called "Heart of Sophia" dedicated to his late wife.
